Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University.

Sakai - http://sakaiproject.org/

Sakai is an open source platform for use by schools and higher education institutions to create on-line learning communities. Members of SPARCC staff and schools will be working with the eTech Ohio staff in creating a LMS using Sakai for introduction in the fall of 2007.

Each CyberGuide contains a student and teacher edition, standards, a task and a process by which it may be completed, teacher-selected web sites and a rubric, based on California Language Arts Content Standards.

Virtual Class Room: is a web based synchronous e-learning solution designed to re-create the real life classroom experience via the internet or a local area network.  It allows the student and teacher to collaborate together in real-time with a unique combination of multimedia and communication tools.  Virtual Class Room (VCR) is completely web based and can run on either the Windows or MAC operating systems.
