One to One Computing Committee

Within the Stark-Portage Area Computer, a group of interested individuals have joined forces to study the adoption of 'One to One Computing' in their school districts.
So what is this thing we call 'One to One Computing" and why should school districts care. According to Wikipedia, 'One-to-one computing means that every student or teacher has access to a computer, the internet and software anytime and anywhere. The term computer is used to mean a personal computer, laptop, handheld, or tablet.'
This approach has certainly gained the attention of the education community and has advanced past the novelty stage. There is serious discussion taking place world wide about the value of the approach and best practises for instruction. The first meeting of this committee was held on Wednesday, February 27th, in the SPARCC office area. Minutes from this meeting are available for you to read. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th, within Canton Local schools.
